"You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step"
I believe every individual has the right to feel great about themselves, to be happy and live a fulfilled life. Some people through no fault of their own have been through experiences that have rid them of their self-worth, where life can always feel like a struggle and constantly feel not good enough regardless of how hard they try. I believe no-one should have to feel like that. I was helped when I needed it and I feel privileged to be able to do the same for others. I have an integrative approach where I tailor the counselling to suit the individual. I believe in being real and ensuring the client feels safe in a non-judgemental, confidential and caring way. To give that person the safe space to offload, make sense of their emotions and come up with their own solutions to live the life they want.
Family therapy allows the family members to explore in a therapeutic and safe setting, how they communicate together. This then highlights what is helpful and what is unhelpful. We find ways of working together that benefits each member of the family. The aim is to seek understanding without blame so the family can move forward..
